Only 1 battery? The Solar Mai

Only 1 battery? The Solar Maintainer above puts out 1/10th amp max. which is sufficient as long as your battery is in good condition.

Au contraire, my aquatic friend. All batteries loose a percentage of their charge every month if left unattended.

"Now Boys, you're both rig

"Now Boys, you're both right. The most important aspect of a battery is to match the CCAs (Cold Cranking Amps)and RCMs (Reserve Capacity in Minutes) to the engine/boat requirement. If the battery in the boat gets used regularly--a few times a month--then there is no need to use a battery maintainer. But, if the boat gets used once a month or less, then the battery maintainer is needed, especially as the battery ages.

Up here in Canada, the Canadian Tire store sells a 5.5 watt (appox 1/2 amp.) solar charger for about $70. You guys down there should have something very similar for a better price than we have.
