Skeg Repair

I have not tried this particular one. I just installed a stainless steel one on our boat due to minor damage on the skeg when we purchased the boat. We are happy with ours.

IMO the composite is the way to go. The SS ones look great but SS is not very forgiving. If you have a minor impact with one, it could turn into a mojor fix (I've seen the results of this). The softer metal of the original skeg breaks away in a minor impact, this saves the lower unit. Bolt on a SS skeg and you change the dynamics of how the entire drive reacts to an impact. Just ask someone who's had a good impact with SS props!

Good point WoodieMan about the impact, if you keep the boat on a trailer it would not matter , but if it was docked I wonder how much electrolysis it would add to shortening the lives of the anodes?
