Sierra seal kits vs Evinrude?

Is there a clear difference in the quality between Sierra and Evinrude kits for such components as carb kits, gear case seal kits, and water pump impellers? Thanks in Advance.

Considering the cost of motor internal parts , such as gears , pistons and bearings it is not worth saving a few dollars on aftermarket parts. ---Other opinions will vary.----What motor and where in Ontario ?

I am located on Lake Muskoka.(Bracebridge) The motor is a 1970 Fastwin 18 HP that has not been run in 20 plus years. I'd like to rebuild the carb, re seal the gear case ,put in a new impeller and probably points and condensers. It did have an odd water spray that went high in the air at the back of the engine when I last drove it so many years ago .

That is great, I am only a few minute boat ride away. I am new to the area and just figuring it out. Are they an Evinrude dealer?

Use oem parts especially ignition parts. Sierra points suck and the spaghetti seal for the gearbox is too skinny.
