I bought a new/rebuilt carb (Sierra) 4 barrel. Boat wouldn't start without manipulating throttle like crazy. It was defective, couldn't get over 1500 rpm and it would bog down and die. Made a ton of changes to everything. Finally tried neighbors carb and it started right up ran perfect. Brought carb back to marine store, they ordered replacement. Tried it out samething as before. Put neighbors back on while on the water and perfect.
Went back to store, they said I needed to pay a mechanic to open carb up and adjust float, but this will cost up to $350.00 and we can't look at for 6 weeks....seriously.
Am I wrong to think I shouldn't have to fix a new item!??
