"Hello out there I have an old

"Hello out there I have an old 80 horse mercury I think 60's. The motor doesn't turn side to side without much force. I greased and turn motor side to side hoping it would loosen up but still very tight. anyone experienced this? should i take the motor apart and off the shaft, hone out, smooth out shaft. could it be somewhat rusted inside? anyone out there with some help. thank you."
 
"It may not loosen up. Taking

"It may not loosen up. Taking that apart is a big PITA. This is common on Merc's. The lower saddle had a snap ring on the end of the tube. If the tube end rotted off, the tube will drop and knock out the seal. If the grease gun is plooping out the bottom, that you may be screwed. The upper bushing is frozen."
