Had a twin engine boat 25 Mako go thru this. randomly ,one engine would shut down just like turning the key to off. Would always restart ,run for a day, week ,month and then just die. What we found was the wiring harness from merc was to short and a factory extention harness added
The factory downfall was leaving this plug in the bottom of the bilge. Plug got wet and was shorting out .
Outboards are shut off by grounding the ign pack ,not by removing 12v
