"Been fishing and at slow idle and when I am turning the wheel I here a slight rapping noise.

Very faint but still a new noise.
I just put new gimble in, and u joints were perfect.
Must be engine coupler when I speed up it goes away.
It's not the motor, might be outdrive but it should get worse at higher rpms is my thinking.
Almost shounds like the u jount are touching the housing.

Anyway thought I would ask gents and get some advise."

are you trimmed up to high while slow ideling and then trim down to go fast cause if you trim it up too much it will make noise.....just my 2 cents... no offense just sometimes people over look the easy things
 
"Yea I put the alignment tool

"Yea I put the alignment tool in after installing the bearing and it fit nice, turned the bearing 4 times and re-checked. Trim is fine almost all the way down like 1" more it will bottom out the cylinder. If I didn't check the u-joints I would swear that was it. I'm going to run it some more and see if it gets louder before I pull the OD off and inspect everything.

"Not to be dismissive, but sometimes they make a little noise... particularly when turning. If it is a u-joint it will should make plenty of noise before leaving you stranded. Go boating. Turn the radio up. :)"
