Should I be concerned

I am looking at a 2003 Sea Ray 175. The boat is 5 hours away from me and is at a dealership. They have sent me plenty of pictures and all looks good with the exception of 2 things, a burn mark in a seat and the skag has some damage. I have attached a picture of the skag and prop, it was obviously hit and and I know it can be fixed but how would I know if the stern has issues as well being the skag was hit? Any advice would be helpful as I am new to inboard/outboard motors.

Skeg will need repair, looks like it's bent to port side and short. Will provide no prop protection. It's all relative to selling price and your awareness before sale.

If the purchase price allows for this repair, pull the lower unit off, and send it in to a propeller repair shop.
It will come back looking like new.

Have you considered having a survey done? It may just be the best money that you could spend!

What do you mean by survey? The boat books for $8200 and we have agreed upon $7400, not a steal but a fair price. Is it likely any part of the stern could be damaged as well, that is my main concern. Any idea of price I would be looking at fixing this?

Yea, for that kind of money. I would pay a surveyor to check it out. He will check a whole bunch of thing that most don't even think of checking. I see front and rear sked damage. And its bent to one side, so it could of effected transom. Also the difference in book value will be made up in repair or replace if you go aftermarket lower half and install. I'd get survey quotes because it doesn't sound like its a steal. It will be money well spent! Just my two cents.
