shimming the carrier barring

I have an 82 wellcraft that i found oil in the u- joint bellow. i pulled the carrier out and the yoke is pitted. is there a way to change the yoke and the seal with out the 100+ dollar shim tool. also im having trouble figering out what stern drive i have for ordering my parts. any help would be appreciated

No need to shim if just replacing the seal or yoke.A serial number should narrow it down but I`m guessing it`s a MR model.This number should work for the yoke.

The better seal number is National 712250
