"Have a 2005 40 4 stoke. Difficult to shift into reverse. Disconnected cables, no problem. Disconnected the shifter at the lower unit, upper unit is fine. When I push down to go into reverse, the travel is not as much as it is going into forward and is much more difficult to get it there. Is this normal?

When I try and shift the gears at the motor, thats where putting into reverse is a bear."
