Shifter conversion from side to front

I have a 1985 20crcos with of course the shift on side.I did see where a youtuber said he did an easy conversion with parts from a 1995 I believe.I was checking things out on ebay/youtube and it does seem pretty simple.Have to change my actuater out since it does not have an extra hole for the rod pin unless I drill a hole in the proper place and get all the other parts associated.Only other issue is my manual primer is where the rod goes thru the cowling. Are those holes in the same exact spot for the shift rod and the primer? It seemed the youtuber made it work.Just wonder about moving the primer somewhere.Any insite on this would be appreciated.

Lower pan #433392 is the same number for both year models. You can look at a couple views right here on this site. Doesn't show any additional holes. The manual primer is a stand alone unit. With longer hoses you should be able to move it some. The steering brackets for the two models show different. The older motor will have to accept the mount for the shift handle? It will also have to be out of the way over on the cast in tiller handle mount.
Wheather you decide to incorporate all of the safety features with regards to shifting I will not comment on.
