"I am having troubles shifting into forward on my OMC Cobra sterndrive. I have replaced the cable, adjusted the shift rod height, and adjusted the shift cables on the engine according to stuart. It will shift in and out of reverse no problem. When shifting into forward, the gears/clutch dog just chatter and will not engage. I noticed when I had the outdrive off, while turning the propeller, I could push the shift rod down into reverse, and back up into neutral. If I pull up on the shift rod to forward, it feels like it jumped into gear, but then I have to give it an extra tug to get it to engage. The only thing I haven't checked is the gears or parts in lower unit. Does this sound like a possibility? Please help.
