Shift linkage hookup

have evinrude 175hp 25''shaft,havin trouble gettin the pin that connects linkage with shift shaft back in. any suggestions would be wonderful.

Have you removed the lower cowling? I did this recently on my Johnson 120. The process is relatively painless and makes access to the linkage a lot easier. Bob

havent removed cowling,but did remove bottom carb, allowed me to
get it done but was still pain in the rearend,will rember about cowling when ever Ihave to do this again thanx 4 advice Bob!
