"I am in the process of rebuilding a 1990 Four Winns project boat with a 5.8L engine. I bought it with the engine removed, so I am working only from a service manual and mechanical aptitude. I am planning to build the engine next weekend then install it shortly thereafter. I believe I have most, if not all, of the parts (I was given a boat, trailer, and two pallets of 'parts'). The shift cables were never removed from the boat and are still attached to the bracket (with the micro switches). Can someone send me a photograph of how and where the cable bracket mounts to, I assume, the engine? I've not found any photographs of this in the service manual. I'd like to know if I should be looking for spacers, other brackets, etc. while I am assembling the engine. Everything else looks pretty straightforward. Thanks."
