"I have a 1993 Ocean Runner with two issues.

First, the shift rod into the lower unit appears frozen. This is a counter rotating engine. Over the past two years, the shift was getting harder and harder to put into gear. It would occasionally get stuck in forward when shifting back into neutral. I expected it to be a bad shift cable between the engine and helm. Today the water pump was replaced. With the lower unit removed, the shift is effortless at the helm, but it is impossible to manually move the vertical shift rod that goes into the front of the lower unit. I've tried rotating the prop while attempting to engage the shift into forward, or reverse and it will not move. With the lower unit on the engine, it is possible to move the shift from the helm, but there is significant resitance and the shift does not engage, the prop can still rotate with it "in gear". I have the service manual and usually perform all maintenance, but it appears that I will need many OMC specialty tools.

Second, the warning horn sounds continuosly with the key in the on position. Initially I thought it was the overheat sensors, but the horn still sounds with both wires removed from the sensor on the port cylinder block.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Scott"
