setting coil to flywheel gap

I know there is a tool/ring used to set the gap, and I have read "the Joe Reeves" method, which I could do. However, being a recently retired toolmaker, and with a lathe, mill, etc at my home shop I would like to machine a ring to use. Does anyone have one of those rings? I'd like a measurement of it if you do.....the difference between the diameter that the coil actually contacts and the diameter that the ring locates on the magneto plate. (or, does anyone know the suggested air gap between flywheel magnets and the coil heals/tails)? I hope that is clearer than mud! I could try to measure the chamfer that Joe was referring to but they are slightly different at each of the 4 spots on this particular CD-11 Thanks, gents.

I have the ring , but not handy to post the measurement.----I believe there are numerous u-tube videos to show this without the tool.

I have set the coils by the method that Joe Reeves suggested if one doesn't have the OEM style setting ring. I do have good spark to both cyls. My quest for machining a ring is just a symptom of being a toolmaker for 40 plus years. I've been told I'm suffering OCD more than a time or two. Thanks guys, for your help.

Use a meter and the timing marks on the flywheel and magplate to set the points.----Gets you the strongest spark for quick easy starting.
