serpentine belt kit - 454... do they make one?

somewhat related to the post below, wondering if they make a serpentine belt kit/tensioner for a late 80's 454.

I wouldn't mind having one belt that's always at the correct tension. I don't have any issues per se but this would be a nice upgrade.

The only problem with that approach is, if that one belt breaks.... You know.

Never seen a factory kit for marine use. there are many aftermarket kits for the auto/truck applications. Going that route won't be cheap as many things will change. You may want to check the marine salvage yards/ebay to see if you can find some used stuff and go from there.

For Jeff's reason alone, I really never cared for serpentine belts but: The belts on my boat are going into their 4th year and are backed up by plenty of spares. The serpentine belt in my F-150 is 11 years old with 284,000 + miles........I'd better change it tommorow...I just jinxed it!

You bet! Change the tensioner pulley as well--the bearing inside it is non-lubricatable.

Al - better change the idler pulley, too....same design as the tensioner pulley.
