Got a 9.9 johnny and nothing came back for the model number J10FREDC. Anyway the carb is puking fuel out of a hole on top of the carby on stb side. It ran briefly even when it was puking gas. Spark is good. Am I just looking at a carb rebuild?Thanks-B
 
That would be a 1996 model 4 stroke.--------Carburetor is similar / adapted from the 2 strokes.---------Easy to clean.
 
Have you experienced what I described? When I say puking it was almost spraying as much gas as the telltale was water.I will tear it down when I get a chance.
 
Racer,the fuel is coming straight from the bowl into the channel which leads to the vent which it is pouring out,not sure how the fuel gets to the idle circuit through the cover. Does the high speed needle require a special tool to remove it. Can you throw me a bone please?There is some varnish present in a few places:bowl,under seat and it dont smell like gas.Guess I just need to get the HS needle out,but how. Thanks for your time-B

Its for a friend of mine and I usually use a FSM. No special tool for the HS orfice then.I will figure it out thank you for reading along.-B
