Secret Mercury (?)

I'm fairly certain it's a Tohatsu but, what year and why are these B'tards making my brain hurt?
Ser# on the tag is: OA754128. All the sites I usually use to ID a motor simply return accurate parts lists but, no year. Even here @ ME! Is there a special clubhouse with a secret knock that lets me go in and view the sacred scrolls or, is this merely another example of predatory capitalism?

Gad zooks....

15 HP engine model? This engine is a 1990-year model. Model number 1015201JC.... 0A754128 also comes up as an MERCURY CANADA 15 MH.

Cheers old bean. However I'm sceptical... I have continued my quest with a little reverse psychology, whilst you were graciously typing a response and, this motor's images pop up at Crowley as a '98. It's a perfect match for all parts but, I will bow down before your superior intellect. OA appears to be the earliest of a line of Tohatsu motors and, yes, the ID tag shows it was made in Canada. It's still there, as am I... Eventually I seek link and sync info but the year is a must right now.

Again my thanks sir.

edit: My original response went into moderation. I used naughty words. Here it is again, sanitized. A fella asked meantime if correct parts are more important. For this question no.

Sorry to disappear. I'm also working on a Wellcraft that is yet another example of a fine boat poorly maintained. I hate doing bellows...

I didn't realize I omitted that it is a 15hp -- and a 2 stroke. I will provide a link to a secure cloud server for an image of the motor snapped this afternoon. Just be aware the image will load a bit slowly.

Thanks for your time!
