Does anyone know of a good sealant that is gas and oil resistant and also dries hard. Also something that is heat resistant? I have been using a good gas and oil resistant sealant but the peoblem is that it gets gummy when hot. Also I have found jb weld not to be gas resistant. Thanks

I repaired a gas tank once with JB or similar epoxy. are you using the JB Quick?
I think the slow version is better with gas.
So many people use it to seal the plugs on Q jet carbs - fixes the gas leaks every time.

Yes, I use the putty for many applications - comes in both a "steel" and "aluminum" formula (aluminum is way more expensive) - once hardened it really is like a piece of steel - you can machine it, drill/tap it - nothing bothers it - gas, oil, chemicals etc - (have used it to seal holes in water jackets, repair fastening tabs on heads that had to have the bolts drilled out, repaired hinge pin mounts on carb floats - even used it to fix chunks missing from propellers that have lost an arguement with rocks)...
