Please can someone advise?
I have the 855517 Sea Water Pump that is fitted to theAQ171c or 251A engine and have purchased the Shaft Overhaul Kit. I havereplaced the shaft and seal but still have a minor drip. In the kit is abearing / bushing (item 11 in the diagram) which has not yet been replaced.
Has anybody changed this?
How do you remove the bushing and install a new one? Whichway round do you push the bearing out and subsequently the new bearing in?
I assume you would use a bearing press?
Would a half-ton arbor press be sufficient or is there a “DoIt Yourself” way with a vice and appropriate drift, or bearing puller?
This is the bushing in the main body of the pump so accessis from both sides.
Would be interested in any success or failure stories as thenext step is a replacement pump and they are getting rare and extremely costly.
