I'm new here,so bear with me,thanks. I bought a 28' skipjack "project".I removed both sterndrives new bellows, new engines, etc. Problem is I forgot how and where to attach the tie bar between drives. Bar has a clevis on one end,and swivel type ball fitting at other end.Any ideas, pic.? Is mavbe something missing .? Thanks,Terry

Terry, assuming that these are AQ series drives, the tie bar fits and installs between the two spindle arms.
The spindle arms are the galvanized arms that attach to the collar steering fork shafts.

Be sure to use the correct length Grade # 8 pinch bolts and be sure to grease the threads prior to tightening them.
Also..... the spindle arm incorporates the Port/Stdb steering stops...... so make dang sure that you phase the splines in correctly. One spline OFF, and that drive will become limited in it's turning ability.

You will adjust the length of the tie bar so that the stern drives are "towed in" approx 3/4" at the prop shafts.
