Were banged up sitting level on the keel very minor prop damage. We didn't sink even with the drain plug out the pumps kept up.We just floated off the blocks & stands & piled up against other boats that did the same. A section of dock that floated over the bulkhead & poles occupies the space where we were. No water in the engines or trans. the cabin is dry. Started the engines to winterize them all is well. All and all not to bad.

My insurance (Boat US) has already been to the marina and will pay to move the boat back on the blocks and stands. We are trying to coordinate with the other boat owners and insurance companies in order to have only one crane do the job. We are a boat club and are working together. However, with many people forced out of their homes this is going to take some time. Our clubhouse ground floor was flooded. We have no power or heat. Some of our docks and the pilings were destroyed .The few boats that stayed in the water one sunk, the rest look undamaged. It is amazing that the 3 boats that broke mooring and drifted into our marina didn't destroy them all.The season is over, for now the boats are safe and can just stay the way they are. They can't move as the are all locked together. Once the boats are blocked up a detailed inspection can be made by the adjusters. I consider myself lucky,my house wasn't damaged. I just lost power for 3 days and had a generator. The boat is insured. It can be repaired. Finding some place to have it repaired may be a problem as so many yards have been destroyed. I may be using it next year the way it is and that's OK, I still have a boat.

It sounds like you were really blessed with so much damage all around you. I get sick when I see those pics of houses and boats not where they are supposed to be. The power of water alone is devastating but add high winds and it multiplies the tragedy. When I saw that sign from FEMA (closed due to bad weather) it made my blood boil. Heads should be rolling over that!
It is my understanding that the FEMA sites that were closed were mobile tent like structures. Not at all safe for the high winds and snow that was predicted.

It sucked here during the storm. Damage you can not imagine. The pictures cannot compare to seeing it in person. Around 11:30 pm the water came up 7 feet in 30 minutes.

Our house in Little Egg Harbor has substantial damage. The boat was on blocks at the marina 2 1/2 miles away and despite the destruction of the marina and so many boats, ours sits there un scathed. The shocking scene is unllike anything I have ever known. The before and after view is remarkable. Along the streets on the way, every house has mounds of stuff thrown out in ruins.

Our boats were fine also. Left them in for the storm and strung lines to the other side of the lagoon pulling them into the middle. Not a scratch. The wave that came thru and destroyed Good Luck Point Marina and the homes around it, hit our house and destroyed the foundation under our home.
