"hi,
i was hoping you could provide some answers on what has gone wrong with my 4.3 vortech 2006 Gas inboard.
I recently had a recon engine put in my boat as it went under for more than 8 hours and was left out in the open for two more days.
I employed the services of a marine mechanic who put the recon engine in and cleaned out the fuel tank as there was still evidnce of salt water.
Once it was finished i took it straight out and the engine lost all oil pressure just one hour into the cruise and stalled.
I got a tow in and the engine was taken out 7 days later. It was looked at by a marine Engineer who states that there was nothing wrong with the engine itself though it could be a possible fuel contamination or a incorrect installation.
It was also found that one of the cylinders got so hot it actually melted though at no time did the engine temp rise beyond the normal 170.
Are you able to shed some light on the situation pls?
Kind Regards,
Luke Tsagaris"
