i HAVE A 1999 225 YAMAHA OUTBOARD INSTALLED NEW PUMP MOTOR & INLINE FLTER IN OIL HOLDING TANK & OIL SENDING FLOAT IN RESERVE TANK(MOUNTED ON PORT SIDE OF ENGINE) ONCE THE KEY IS TURN ON THE OIL WILL NO STOP FILLING THE RESERVE CAUSING THE TANK CAP TO POP OFF AND OVER FLOW -SOS

The smaller tank on the motor is the main oil tank. Make sure that the float switch is free to move up and down. If the float is stuck in the down or middle position the ECU will not know to stop the remote tank oil pump. If you are not sure, remove the float switch assembly and hold the float all of the way up. Have someone turn the key on. The pump should not run.
