"I have what I think is a 430A GM V6 and 290 or SP drive. All the numbers are AWOL or can't be read, the carb cover says 430 and is 2 barrel and power steering pump is moouned at top/port side of engine. My question is this: there are two rubber hose water outlets turned down, one on each sied of drive at trasom. Are they the main water outlet or just tattle tells for flushing. Mine are cracked and rotten but can't seem to find them aon any drawings or parts list. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.
thank you."

This model is after the use of the two rubber hooks as with the later 280/275.

I'm thinking that you have a later 430A engine with an earlier transom shield.

Those two little hoses (rubber hooks) are for low RPM exhaust pressure relief only.
The engine and Y pipe may need to be removed to replace them unless you are very good at working in very tight quarters to replace them and five O-rings.
I'm thinking that the engine at the very least would need to move FWD some.
