Good morning,

Pls help me with this; I currently have a three blade prop on this engine, and maximum rpm´s is perfect on the spot, 6000 rpms. I wanted to test a four bladed, and the maximum rpms dropped to 5600 rpms. This is still within the maximum range of 5000-6000 rpms (according to the manual). On both tests I was alone in the boat. If my max with the 4-bladed drops to 5200-5300 with more people in the boat, would this still be OK even if it feels that I am a little bit too low on my rpms. Grateful for opinons and advice!

As long as WOT rpm's are within limits your ok, but getting max rpm closer to the max limit is better for the engine.
Only diff with changing props is what you are trying to achieve? Faster top speed, faster hole shot. Also remember pitch and diameter play an important role in prop/engine performance.
4-blade props tend to hold better in sharp turns (no data here to warrant that), but unless your running 50+ mph and turning sharp frequently your only gain will be a better hole shot when changing to a 4blade prop.

+ 1 inch of propeller pitch will reduce full-throttle RPM by 150 to 200.
- 1 inch of propeller pitch will increase full-throttle RPM by 150 to 200.
4-blade generally turns 50 to 100 RPM less than a 3-blade propeller with the same pitch.

The theoretical distance, in inches, that a propeller travels forward during one revolution.
The higher the propeller pitch that the engine can turn, the faster the boat will usually go.
