rpms...no power...merc 3.0

My searay br180 with merc 3.0 would not excced 3000 rpm and it was slow off the takeoff. It ran fine last time it was out. Only difference was new prop. Will the prop cause lower rpms? Engine seems to be running on all cylinders. To all, thanks for any help.

so what pitch was the last one and the new one is what? Why the change of prop. ?

Did you go up alot in pitch ?

Never hurts to check compression.

thanks for the reply. I hit a rock and took a chunk out of the old prop. not big though. I'll check the pitch.
