Rochester quadrajet help

My 1989 luhrs port engine stalls after coming off a plane, my mechanic has tried spraying and cleaning out carb,ng. I was told it could be the low idle port in the carb. Any ideas hoew to clean without taking off the carb or at least not opening up the carb. thanks barry

It's probably flooding and needs a rebuild.

Can't do what you wanna do with the stated restrictions.

There is no "low idle port" in that carb. There are several passages making up the idle circuit with several openings, many serving dual functions depending upon the state of operation.

Like Jeff said, if it is a carb issue, it is time for a thorough overhaul.

there are about 10 people I have corresponded with on the forum here that I would trust my boat to and you have heard from two of them. You will come to find this out as you log on more....and you will, you own a boat!

There isn't any short term fix; do it right and it should last many more years.

I can't say how long or how much but I think you will be much better off than getting a "rebuild". Some offer "rush" service if you are willing to pay a premium.
