I have a fuel issue with my Mercruiser 470.
Along with draining and cleaning all the old fuel out, replacing fuel filters etc I have got a rebuild kit for the Carb.
Lucky I did because on taking it apart it really did need an overhall & im now quite sure that the carb has been the main problem.
Amongst other things that I have now sorted I have noticed that the power valve piston is solid, should it be solid or should it be free to compress as it has a spring that suggests it should.
If so is this a common issue and if so other than soaking it with release agents is the any other suggestions as to how the free it up without damaging the carb in any way??
