I have 1985 OMC 3.8L with a Rochester 2 barrel. Runs perfect under gradual acceleration. Stalls under rapid acceleration. Had same problem about 5 years ago. Replaced the accelerator pump which corrected the problem. Having the same problem again. Replaced accelerator pump this time but no improvement. Any ideas?

" Hi!
Most of the Rochester 2bbl have two small checkvalves to make the accelerator pump work. One is straight below the pump itself. This one is of aluminum. The other checkvalve is located under venturi cluster and is of steel. I would suspect that either one of them is gone and or sticking due to corrosion. If however that is not the answer to it, I would check out the cluster itself to make sure that the accelerator pump holes are open and free.
