Hi everyone, I'm confused as to which Riser gaskets are the correct ones. ( OEM ) only
Ser# 0m012817 Closed cooling, Bravo 3
Thanks

You do not mention whether this is a Full System, or a Half System.
Risers are always sea water fed regardless of Full System or a Half System.

If the exhaust manifolds are included in your Closed Cooling system (Full System), then the otherwise sea water transfer ports will be blocked off.
IOW, you'll have E/G coolant within the manifolds that will be separated from the risers.

If the exhaust manifolds are NOT included (Half System), then the transfer ports may remain open... but this also depends on the manifold/riser arrangement.
Some installations route the sea water into/out of the manifolds, then feed the risers and onto the exhaust.

So, more info is needed!

Merc does an excellent job at listing schematics by engine serial number. I'd begin there, and see what's shown.

thanks again.............

Ricardo, I think I can say that I have A half system, so I believe that the gaskets will remain open....
I dont know why I'm so stuck on this issue...
The main reason I want to replace the gaskets (OEM)is because I was recently losing coolant from the overflow bottle, and the heat exchanger (pressure cap) the coolant was low. Now the other issue since this started was on occasion while starting on FIRST start of the day, the engine seemed like it was slightly bindind, then run perfectly, and restart fine for the rest of the day. So I thought that possibly I was losing coolant past the riser gasket into the manifold.... Make any sense?

Thanks, Rick

Do you have dry joint exhaust? If yes, do you have a spacer between the manifold and the riser. If you do, you need an unrestricted gasket between the manifold and the spacer. The riser always gets a restricted gasket, the restricted port goes towards the front of the engine.
