"89 evinrude xp 150 my boat guy took engine apart and said there was a ring stuck,what would cause that and what will it make a enging run like thanks"

Piston rings are a key compone

Piston rings are a key component of engine operation.It affects compression and also keeps combustion gasses fron getting into the crankcase.Lousy oil / overheating / scoring of piston and poor quality gasoline will cause a ring to stick.Simple really.

so i should always use good oil and what type of gas would be good 87 or 90

having problem with 9.9 1974 evinrude putting clutch dog and shifting yoke back in lower unit i would appricate any help thanks
