" I have an 1989 ski boat with a 350 Merc I/O, w/ Alpha drive. It is raw water cooled.
The 2nd year I had the boat, I installed a thru-hull exhaust system. This year after replacing the elbows and manifolds, I have decided to go back to the stock system.

Problem is...my memory.

I have everything back together and the boat fired up fine with the hose hooked up to the water intake(it's on a boat lift).

Now my question, there is exhaust coming out from both the prop and from the bottom of the transom area. Also most of the discharge water is also coming out from the transom area. I can't remember if that is correct or if all of the exhaust and water are supposed to come out of the prop. I suppose the bellows is in need of replacing if it is all supposed to come out from the prop.

Any help please!

" john ~ all is good , The water is supposed to come out of transom area also. There are passeges in transom shield to alow water & exaust to pass. The perpose of these passages is to relieve backpressure to allow the engine to idle. "
