reverse problem

I got a johnson 60esl 71c...if out in reverse it still pushes forward...how can I fix that

I suspect either no power is being applied to the reverse solenoid coil or the coil is open circuit

Have you checked/changed the gearoil? Forward is the default gear when no power is applied to the neutral and reverse coils use a volt meter or a test light and check for power going down to the coils in neutral and reverse with the key on run.

There are two disconnects on the green and blue wires just pull the sleeve back and check for power. Be careful you dont short them to ground.

Gearoil is changed...got power to both wires app 10-11 v...one in neutral the other one in reverse.....
