Rev cam setup on 65 hp

"I think I messed up reinstall

"I think I messed up reinstalling the lower unit on a 65hp 3 cyl 650, either that or it was messed up to begin with since I just got the motor to repower my boat. I figured I'd replace the water pump as a precaution (good thing I did, because the impeller was shot) but now when I move the controls foward it acts as if it is in reverse, but moves rotates forward. When I move the controls to reverse it moves in reverse but the throttle wants to work as if it were in forward. How do I fix this? Thanks for your help, I am so frustrated, but I am really good at taking the lower unit off."

I do not undedstand. The boat goes the right way? Or the control is totally backwards? The cable for the shifter pulls for foward gear.
The throttle cable pulls for faster. I forget where to set the cam to unlock correctly.

"The controls are in correctly, but instead of the trottle increasing when you shift toforward, it increases when you put the motor in reverse. So I figure it has something to do with that rev cam in the lower unit. Plus it does no lock on the bar"
 
"ok, so I worked on this merc

"ok, so I worked on this merc till the sun set in Pa and I now have the motor working in forward with the throttle increasing as I add more speed....however, the forward position on the controls is by pushing down rather than pushing the control arm forward. Any ideas?"
