Just picked up a 1962 merc 350 (35hp) motor that I am starting to go through. It has a phelon magneto setup. Due to the scarcity (and supposed reliability) of the condensers, I plan to switch them to omc's. It looks like a slightly larger hole drilled into the mag plate and they should screw right in. Needed to know the capacitance of the originals so I could match them correctly. I suppose I could measure the old ones, but with their age, not sure if I would get an accurate baseline.
