Hi guys, it's been a couple of years since I've been here, but I got some great help repairing my 9.9 hp, so I thought this would be a good place to start with my restoration project. I have a 1953-54 15 hp Fastwin. #15012-20064. I have taken it completely apart, sanded same, and am ready to start putting it back together. I took lots of pics, but I would like to try and find both a part and repair manual, or any diagrams available. I would also like any information on original paint colors and decals. In other words, anything that might smooth the path in restoring back to as close to original as possible. Thanks for your help.

Peter McDowell at www.nymarine.ca has perfect match paint and decals. His decals are vinyl, not those delicate water slide kind. I know from talking to him in the past that if he can't get the paint color perfect, he won't make it.

Thank you 'fdrgator' and kimcrwbr1, I followed your links for the decals and paint, and I think that should cover that problem. I'm still looking for part manuals and repair manuals, so if you come across anything please let me know.

Thanks again, Kingstonlad

Hi Guys, I need some help on a 1953 15hp evinrude fastwin. My compressor is at 125 on both cylinders. The engine is very hard to pull or even turn with a drill machine with plugs on. And it turns perfectly without plugs. Feels like the compression is to high.

Any idea what could be wrong?

Okay. Do you have the big @ss 1/2" high torque drill on low range? That's what it will take for a good Fastwin to spin over. You got to have good shoulders too. I think yours has a recoil that has to be "timed". In other words as it comes on to the compression stroke the rope has to go around the eccentric.
