Hi everyone,
I swapped my yamaha 2 stroke with a mercury 4 stroke and i have finished the electrical work today. I couldnt get the alarm system (for overheating, oil pressure)
to work at first, the reason for this was a broken pin on a resistor that was placed in the wiring of the engine. It was a 200 ohm resistor and also something that looked like a diode. I can get the system to work if i removed the diode and resistor but i dont want to take any chances.
Can anyone tell me what the purpose is for the diode and resistor? And is it safe to remove or should i keep them?
Thanks in advance!
