How do I reset gauge to remove check engine light

You should always preface the question with the year and model of the engine you're talking about.

But on the newer (non-Command Link) gauges the normal reset procedure is:

Reset the light by doing the following;
HOLD THE " MODE " button down for 5 seconds .
Then select " CAL 1 " which is calibration 1 .
Then hold the " MODE " AND " SET " button down TOGETHER for one SECOND .
This will reset the Gauge and TAKE AWAY the " CHECK ENGINE LIGHT " off the main display.
This will reset the display if it is the service reminder.
