Replacing VRO with non-VRO fuel pump

Tech came and looked at my pontton and said my VRO is shot. It is a fuel side issue so I can not just disconnect oil side and pre-mix. I am wanting to run premix fuel from now on but what type of fuel pump can I get to install on my 1998 50 hp J50TSLECC outboard? If someone can post a link to the part and any other tips I should know of.

I have seen where others ahve used Sierra pump 18-7353. Does anyone have in experience with this pump as a VRO replacement?

The elegantly simple way is to get the fuel pump and gasket from a commercial model 45 HP or the 48 HP 2 cylinder model.------There is a place on the block to mount it for the pressure pulse.---Plug the pulse port for the VRO pump.-Simplest / cheapest way that I know of.
