"I have removed the old defect

"I have removed the old defective trim motor, but in the process noticed that installing the new motor will not be easy to install. Do i have to remove the engine from the transom to do this or is the a trick that i am unaware of? Thanks for your time."
 
You don't have to remove t

You don't have to remove the engine. You have to raise the engine manually and then engage the trailer tilt lock. There is a release valve that you have to open to enable you to do this. You can see it through a hole in the lower part of the starboard mounting leg. Remove the clip at the top of the tilt rod. You then drive out the pin at the top and manually push the rod down. Remove the bolts that hold the bottom of the tilt maniifold to the brackets. You should now be able to tilt the system down towards you to remove and replace the motor.
