Replacing transom

There was discussion about a waterproffing liquid for wood that could then be fiberglasses and I was wanting to know what the product is and where to obtain it as I am removing the top deck of my 1978 Glastron Carlson and replacing all wood in transom and floor, etc. and want the lasted in the industry for longivity and strength. Any help would be great.

I replaced my transom that was rotted, and used 2 3/4" marine plywood( choice) and CPES by Rotdoctor.com .. I highly recommend. Only used 1 qt kit and the transom is about 4'x6'.. I had to pre-drill for screws as then putting them in I would either break screws or elec screw driver bits. I used a reg 2 part to glue the 2 peices together and place about 800 pounds of weight on them for 3 days. it's my 1st full transom job and I wont do my floor without it.

Do yourself a favor and dont use wood. Most decent boat manufacturers have gotten away from wood in the last 10-15 yrs.
Google Klegecell,(diab products) or coosa

"can you lay fiberglass resin overtop of the CPES treated wood?"

Yes! When installing a new floor, mix a cup of CPES and put it in a squeeze bottle w/a nipple cap like a dishsoap bottle. Squirt a teaspoon on the floor for each screw and it will seal the screw hole. When drilling holes in transom for bolts and screws I also squirted CPES in the hole and let it cure.
