"After the summer season I plan on pulling my 1968 LM318 reverse rotation from my Ski Nautique to take care of a slow but steady oil leak. The boat does not have an hour meter so I have no idea. It was, I believe, rebuilt about 12 years ago. The engine runs strong, no bogging, great hole shot. It has a BW 1:1 transmission.
Here's what I plan on doing, now if you guys who are more engine savvy could chime in I would appreciate it.
1. Replace front and rear seals (where to find those?)
2. Pull the heads and resurface?
3. New head gaskets
4. What else should I look into, what makes sense to do once I've got the engine out of the boat.
