" Is it difficult to replace a stator, or just about any electrical component using a repair manual, or do I need special tools to do checks, like a voltimeter, etc. I want to start doing repair myself, save money on labor charges for something simple. Does a service manual tell you everything you need to know? 1992 Johnson 200 LE. "

Do yourself a favor and purchase an OMC flywheel puller from your OMC dealer. I have a 1990 200 Evinrude and sometimes the flywheel is a little tough to get off. The pullers they sell in the auto parts stores are not beefy enough.

An automotive harmonic balancer puller works just fine too at much less cost than a marine puller..
