Replacing Mercury ignition

I have a 1999 Mercury 90 hp with a 3 position ignition with push to choke. I was removing the battery and accidentally hit the ignition and it came apart. I have found several brand replacements online. The problem is all the replacements have 6 wires to the ignition and my existing ignition has 10 wires. Will the 6 wire replacement work? What is the difference? Thanks

On mine it 10 wires down to 6 two red togethet and two blacks together makes 6
