Replacing Fuel Inlet - Practical Question

I'll be replacing a cracked fuel inlet on my 1991 Evinrude this weekend. Do I need to flush the gas out of the system before I remove the old inlet? Or should I be good to simply remove the part and catch whatever comes out in a 5-gallon bucket?

Right, remove fuel line at motor coupling and push in little pin to release fuel and catch it in a small container if you wish. Then no fuel will leak into motor when you repair the fuel inlet to pump.
