replacing a key

I recently acquired a 145 Johnson. Not sure of its year but around 1980. It's running ok but the brass starter key is bent and is about to break and I have no other one. A locksmith could not find a matching blank in his store and told me to contact the manufacturer. So here I am. Any suggestions? The key has the name Pollak Boston U.S.A. on one side and the number 14 on the other.

If it is a factory switch your local dealer may have a key in stock.--------At least dealers used to keep an assortment of keys on hand to help.--------Maybe today they want you to buy a complete new switch.
