Replacement Trim Pump - SP290 Stern Drive.

Hi, can anybody help please?
My Trim Pump failed beyond economic repair and I have had to replace it. The Trim Pump is the older model without the reservoir and I have replaced it with an ARC6224 pattern replacement. The only difference I can tell is that the hydraulic hose connections are on the rear whilst the original was on the front. Unfortunately it does not say which the low pressure connection is and which the high pressure connection is. The workshop manual clearly states “it is vital that they be reconnected to the correct hose connection”
Has anybody fitted one of these?
The supplier cannot help! Logic suggests that the connections will be 180deg difference, but it would be nice to be sure.

Note that some get confused between the 290 (of which uses the small diameter suspension fork hinge pins) and the next generation drives.
The next generation requires a suspension fork whereby the hinge pin diameter became larger.
Note that the Reverse Latch is no longer used.
There is a misnomer that these are "Large Pin 290's"!
There is no such animal.

Once we leave the 290 designation, the drive identification changes.
So... point being, be sure that you are looking at schematics that reflect your actual model number.
Even the parts counter people get this wrong occassionally.

Many thanks for your response Rick.
I did check with the manual and indeed the old pump. I ordered a direct replacement for the OEM of 852928-1. Unfortunately the OEM seems to be quite rare in my part of the world.
