replaced waterpump impeller today

this is the old waterpump impeller, no wonder it wasnt spraying water.

That actually doesn't look too bad. Deforming of the arms is normal being jammed in the cup like it is. I have seen pictures of a few that the arms split/crack/break off.

When I replaced the impeller in my outboard I had to tip out the little bits of petrified rubber that were no longer attached to the centre. It had been sitting unused for nearly two decades so I guess that's a good enough excuse.
